Investing in Quality Original Artwork
Your investment in art matters deeply—to you, and to me. Buying original artwork is more than a transaction; it’s a journey of connection. From discovering a piece that moves you to confidently bringing it into your life, there’s much to consider—and I’m here to make that process feel easy and enjoyable.
If you're wondering about what makes a piece truly gallery-quality, you're not alone. Understanding how artwork is made can transform uncertainty into confidence.
Here are four key aspects that reflect my commitment to craftsmanship and care:
Gallery-Wrapped Canvases
Each canvas is made from high-quality materials and gallery-wrapped for a clean, professional finish—perfect for display with or without a frame.Conservation-Grade Paper
Works on paper are created on acid-free stock and mounted with archival matting and backing, ensuring long-term protection from yellowing and environmental wear.Professional-Grade Paint Supplies
Only the finest artist-grade paints are used, chosen for their richness, durability, and excellent lightfastness to preserve color for years to come.UV-Protected Varnish
A final varnish with UV protection is applied to safeguard each painting from sunlight and wear while enhancing its surface and depth.
These details may seem small—but together, they support a meaningful, lasting connection between you and the artwork you choose.
Here's a look at the three stages I use in my practice to ensure that each painting is built to last—and that your investment continues to hold its value over time:
1. Prepping Stage
Every lasting piece starts with thoughtful preparation. I begin by layering each canvas or sheet of oil paper with a combination of gesso and molding paste—at least four protective coats to prevent future rot or absorption. This creates a strong, archival surface that holds up over time.
Each prepped piece receives a unique inventory number and is recorded in an art database to ensure proper documentation and traceability—an added layer of professionalism and care.
2. Painting Stage
This is the heart of my process. Every painting is approached individually, allowing its own character and voice to emerge. I work exclusively with professional-grade artist paints, chosen for their richness and lightfastness (resistance to fading over time).
Even the edges of each canvas are painted, offering a clean, gallery-ready look—framed or unframed. This stage takes time, attention, and patience… but it’s worth it.
3. Gallery-Ready Stage
Once complete, the artwork is allowed to cure properly:
Acrylic works cure for several weeks.
Oil paintings may take six months or more, depending on the medium.
Cold wax with oil can speed up drying depending on the ratio used.
After curing, each piece is gently cleaned, then sealed with a UV-protective varnish or cold wax finish—buffed to a soft satin sheen. I allow a full 72 hours between coats for best results.
Finally, every painting is professionally photographed and documented with its title, dimensions, media, exhibition history, and more—preserving its legacy and provenance.
